The candidate is also responsible for following all safety regulations and procedures associated with the duties. Must be able to lift 25 kg bags of feed and perform other duties as required. LOCATION: Chilliwack

IMMEDIATE HIRING. CASUAL PART-TIME, 20 HRS/Week.

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Store Manager, BC, the duties of the Warehouse Worker include coordinating incoming shipments, processing documents verifying product and quantities; storing, rotating, monitoring and counting inventory; organizing and maintaining the warehouse, yard and store. The candidate is also responsible for following all safety regulations and procedures associated with the duties. Must be able to lift 25 kg bags of feed and perform other duties as required. The Warehouse Worker is expected to conduct all matters in a manner consistent with the company’s Corporate Values of Innovation, Caring, Capable, and Collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Outstanding organizational abilities and demonstrated accurate attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and initiative for superior customer service
  • Must have or be in the process of acquiring BC Forklift certificate within 90 day probation period
  • Must have or be in the process of acquiring a Pesticide certificate and Veterinary dispensing certificate
  • Animal health and/or horticultural knowledge required
  • Proficiency in cash handling, MS Office, and other computer applications
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently multi-task under tight deadlines
  • Pleasant and professional with a positive attitude, integrity, accountability, team-oriented, respectful, be coachable and passionate about your career!
  • Other duties as required.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • 2-3 yrs. experience in a mill, warehouse, greenhouse, or farm preferred, with forklift driving skills
  • Strong, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Collaboration, good communication skills (written and verbal), high learning capacity
  • Physical Requirements:

o Ability to regularly bend and twist, open and close lids, climb ladders, and lift 50 pounds.
o Able to lift 25 kgs on an occasional basis
o Stand for long periods of time

o Not allergic to dust, hay, straw, or feed grains

  • Physical Work Conditions: Often exposed to loud sounds, distracting noise levels, and dusty hot/cold environments.
