Forklift Operator – 3 positions, one on each of the below shifts:

Monday to Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM or,

Monday to Friday 9:00AM – 5:30PM or,

Monday to Friday 2:30PM – 11:00PM

Primary Objective of Position

Manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck or forklift, general labor and warehouse maintenance.

Essential Job Functions

• Receive cargo from incoming trucks by removing from truck by hand, or using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack.
• Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation.
• Record receipts to appropriate forms and/or log books.
• Verify that proper documentation is attached.
• Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location.
• Accurately label freight to destination.
• Perform various manual labour functions such as hand-loading containers.
• Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, putting equipment away, etc.

• Develop and maintain excellent service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Build and unload containers to specific containers.
• Dim and weigh freight. Use of WMS – scanners
• General housekeeping duties in the warehouse , including sweeping floors, putting equipment away, etc.
• Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications and Competencies

• 1-2 years related experience, or and equivalent combination of education and experience
• High School Diploma
• Forklift License required
• Reach experience an asset or we will train
• Ability to work in a high dust, dirt environment
• Ability to work with regular exposure to moving machinery and/or vehicles
• Ability to perform moderate lifting or carrying of 50-75 lbs
• Demonstrated ability to work independently under minimum supervision
• Good organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of Canadian and International geography and time zones
• Familiar with various types of WMS (warehouse or scanning systems)
• Fast paced environment – tight deadlines
• Safety – personal willingness to practice a standard of occupational health and safety including proper use of equipment and protective devices, and promote a safe working environment conducive to all involved.
• Team player with good written and verbal communication skills
